A partnership has been established between the NuAge Database and Biobank, le Réseau québécois de recherche sur le vieillissement (RQRV) and Drs Mark Lathrop and Jiannis Ragoussis of the Centre de génomique de l’Université McGill in order to enhance the NuAge Database and Biobank.
This collaboration allowed us to add DNA and RNA samples from study participants to the NuAge biobank. Moreover, the genotypes of 1,276 participants from the NuAge cohort who consented to participate in genetic studies were successfully analyzed. Nearly 700,000 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were genotyped using the chip Axiom UK Biobank of Affymetrix and the analysis of APOE genotypes (ε2, ε3, ε4) was performed using TaqMan RT-PCR.
These data and samples are now available to researchers. For more information, the Methodological and Quality Control Report of the genetic data, including imputation, is available on our website.
