he NuAge Database and Biobank have completed the integration of more than a dozen biomarkers assayed in 461 participants in the nested NutCog study (2006-2010; see news article<\/a>). These biomarkers include vitamin K, long-chain fatty acids, the lipid profile, homocysteine, insulin, HOMA index, cortisol, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin 6 and 10, carbonylated proteins, the insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3). These assays were performed on serum or plasma samples taken at different measurement times of the NuAge Study as required by the NutCog Study and are available to users of the bank upon request. These assays were made possible by funding obtained for the NutCog Study (Canadian Institutes of Health Research), whose principal investigator is Professor Guylaine Ferland of Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, as well as by funding from Team 5 (nutrition, exercise and lifestyle) of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNV; https:\/\/ccna-ccnv.ca\/<\/a>).<\/p>
